Hello Loving Members,

This is Sharon Stephens, Founder of Loving-groups.org. I send this information in response to the Coronavirus spreading across the world. Our response and actions are based on the information that we have at hand now and that does change minute to minute.

The most important thing we do is to stay positive and agile to make adjustments so that we can all stay connected and still serve the needs of our community including leaders and members.

We have made an executive decision to take a sabbatical from all face to face meetings, classes, or workshops. I understand that this may cause some significant disruption and disappointment to many but we are nonetheless compelled based on the information we have received and recent advice to make these changes.

We have very few cases confirmed in our areas of life, but we are erring on the side of caution and feel it’s a prudent course of action.

Experts have said that the best time to take steps to prevent the spread is now, before cases show up on our doorsteps.

Our approach has three goals –

To protect the health of our leaders, participants, and neighboring community members.

To help slow the spread

To ensure the continuity of our organization.

These initiatives are advanced by eliminating the number of people gathering. We cannot eliminate all the risks of course, but we believe these steps will help mitigate the potential risks in the future that we do face.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding while we make these changes. I especially want to thank all the hosts who have jumped in and made changes very quickly.

Simply – we at Loving-Groups have never encountered anything like this before and we really have no roadmap for what is ahead. Trying to determine group by group, day by day – dodging and weaving the information changing hourly coming at us – lead us to make this prudent decision to change all the groups.

I have enormous faith in our leaders and members in our resiliency and willingness to stay connected and to do our parts to keep everyone safe in this most difficult situation.

I have special faith that we all can recognize that it is a time to think of others wellbeing. We are in this together though I recognize that impact will not be even for everyone in some cases, we will make it through this together, supporting each other, staying connected even if we are physically separated.

I cannot pretend that I hoped this spring season would unfold this way. But I eagerly await the ingenuity, compassion and kindness that will unlock in our community of Loving-Groups.org.

If there is ever a time to be good and great this is surely it.

As of today all groups will be zoom only.

I am trusting as the increased amount of conversations comes in to our lives regarding the virus, I am trusting everyone, members,  including the leaders, that you will lead with faith and not fear. Your words are powerful to someone who might be in fear. Use them wisely to promote peace and not chaos.

If you have a way to contribute to the community with ideas of online groups, do a book study, donate to our cause, give feedback, please feel free to contact me @ [email protected] We are open to hear how we can support you through these days of “social distancing”.

We are creatures desiring connection. Stay connected. Check on each other – lend an ear.

By Saturday 3/14/2020 the meetups will have more accurate information.

We love you- Sharon   March 13, 2020
